Description of the role

Generate new business meetings and tenders for both Think and Wanderlust Studio. The core goal is to convince organisations that they need to meet with the directors to discuss their content marketing and publishing requirements.

The role involves maintaining two established databases, keeping in regular contact with both pipelines, identifying new leads and adding them to the relevant database.

The role also requires them to provide administrative and marketing support to the directors, including preparing files for meetings and pitches, assisting with industry research, uploading awards entries and attending events, where appropriate.

Report in to the Business Development Director.


  • Maintain the new business databases to ensure call notes are up to date, contact details are correct and pertinent information is recorded (ie contract renewal dates, tender alerts and any restrictions that apply).
  • Telephone membership organisations for Think with a view to introducing our services and fixing meetings.
  • Telephone travel companies and brands for Wanderlust Studio with a view to introducing our services and fixing meetings.
  • Research new sectors for both companies, add them to the database and make contact with them.
  • Produce weekly reports with updates on the pipelines, new leads and meetings booked.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings and pitches, which includes, but is not limited to: compiling and printing documents, organising IT equipment and liaising with the administrative team to bind documents, book taxis and post documents.
  • Ensure the new business shelves are up to date and organised.
  • Ensure we have ample supplies of new business stationary.
  • Help collate awards entries from the relevant directors and upload them to the awards portals.
  • Help collect data and feedback for company research projects.
  • Represent the companies at events, where appropriate.

Key attributes

  • 2 years + new business or sales experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced level in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced negotiation and objection handling skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills.

Other educational or professional qualifications

  • Essential – HE Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Desirable – Sales training
