Delivering transformational and authentic travel experiences, Wanderlust has been inspiring travellers to get more from their time away for the last 25 years.

Now, we are looking to find a highly-motivated, commercially-driven and digital-first publisher to develop and implement a multi-channel audience engagement strategy. The aim? To keep the brand at the leading edge of travel communications for the next decade and beyond.

It’s an exciting time for the Wanderlust Travel Media brand. Having joined the Think Media Group in 2017, the brand is now about to form part of Think Travel, a company that is set to become one of the most innovative data-led travel media and marketing services companies in Europe. The move brings with it significant digital investment, which will position Wanderlust as a mobile-first, 360-degree media brand.

Working out of Think’s central London office, the publisher will drive the growth of the brand across digital, print and live events and be responsible for delivering ambitious targets set for 2020. The publisher will report in to the board and be expected to represent the brand internationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of all multi-channel brand activity, including commercial, marketing, production and digital teams and freelancers
  • Financial management and reporting: including budgeting, forecasting and reporting in the financial performance of each product/project
  • Working with the CEO, Exec Director and Editor in Chief to deliver in the publishing strategy and digital vision. This would involve interpreting and acting on performance data to continuously evolve and improve the effectiveness of current and planned activity.
  • Brand visibility: ensuring the brand messaging is clear both internally and externally
  • Audience development: devising and overseeing subscription and circulation development programmes along with a wider marketing strategy
  • Innovative brand development: taking the brand into new markets and developing new products
  • Representing the brand at all trade events in the UK and overseas
  • Driving sales revenues, working with the Commercial Director to ensure commercial opportunities and creative solutions are identified and delivered
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Strategy and growth of the websites (B2B, B2C, Trip Finder)
  • Data-led approach to travel communications
  • Business efficiency: spotting opportunities to improve systems and processes, ensuring the team is working as effectively as possible.
  • Support for Think Travel’s content agency, offering branded content and content marketing services to the travel trade.

This is a hands-on role and would suit an ambitious, entrepreneurial and experienced digital publisher looking to build a cross-platform, international travel media brand. We are particularly interested in hearing from those with experience developing video and a mobile-first content to improve audience engagement.
